On behalf of DDSC USA (formerly known as Deir Debwan Scope) it is with all respect that we would like to wish our Muslim communities a blessed and beautiful Eid al-Fitr. We would like to extend our appreciation to our supporters, donors and volunteers that helped make a difference in hundreds of peoples’ lives this Ramadan and Eid.
Prior to the beginning of Ramadan, DDSC USA began organizing to raise funds for its annual Ramadan Food Basket Initiative for families in Palestine. By raising over $30,000, we were able to successfully provide food baskets to over 600 families residing in various villages and refugees camps in Palestine that included a mixture of meat, produce, dry foods, dates and deserts. We organized volunteers from Deir Debwan and surrounding villages to help package the food, place on trucks and distribute to the families’ homes over a matter of a week.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, DDSC USA partnered with various orphanages in Palestine to help provide Eid al-Fitr gifts for the young girls and boys in the orphanages. Most of these children had never received a gift or experienced the joys that Ramadan and Eid bring. We successfully were able to raise over $20,000 to provide Eid gifts for them. Our volunteers distributed gifts this last weekend to hundreds of children, where gfts varied from new clothes, shoes, toys, dolls, games, sports equipment, etc.
DDSC USA has had a successful turn out in fulfilling its goal and mission this Ramadan and Eid. These outcomes would not have been possible to accomplish without the efforts our communities, donors, supports, volunteers and members of DDSC USA that were put towards these humane and charitable initiatives.
